Introduction To Reckitt Africa
- Reckitt is a household consumer brand name – known to the world as an umbrella that oversees the most loved and trusted hygiene, health and nutrition brands with a singular purpose to protect, heal and nurture a cleaner, healthier world.
- In Nigeria, over the past decades Reckitt has been instrumental to some key social impact activities to drive better health and hygiene such as – The Dettol School Hygiene Program, The Dettol Hygiene Quest, Harpic Open Defecation Free Campaign and Mortein Fight to End Malaria Campaign.
The Task
- Reckitt teamed up with The Wellbeing Foundation Africa – an NGO with national presence and global affiliations – for the launch of the Project Oscar initiative – an initiative that advocates for better disability care to tackle neo-natal jaundice among infants.
- The agency was tasked to bring the event to life and ensure that the essence of the event and initiative is properly communicated.
Guest Categories

- WBFA & Reckitt Delegation
- Key Policymakers
- Key Government Officials
- Local Disability Advocates
- Media Representatives
Strategies Implemented
- Ideal Venue Selection – Due to the fact that the main subject of the event (Oscar Anderson) is disabled, it was imperative to get an event location that has full disability access and that led to the choice of Four Points by Sheraton at Oniru, Victoria Island.
- Branding & Visibility – Event banners and other visibility materials deployed to the venue captured facts and figures on disability care and neonatal jaundice hence the need for the initiative and additional support from the government and corporate bodies.
- Guest Management – All guests in attendance were adequately catered to – including dignitaries such as H.E Mrs Toyin Saraki and other key government stakeholders – All aspects of the event were wheelchair accessible including the stage.
Results
- Achieved 110% of planned attendance
- Event Experience – All guests in attendance expressed satisfaction with the overall event experience.
The launch of Project Oscar marked a bold step in Reckitt’s journey toward inclusive health advocacy, highlighting the brand’s commitment to disability care and neonatal health. Through its partnership with the Wellbeing Foundation Africa, the initiative spotlighted a critical public health gap while calling for institutional and corporate action.
